Why you should visit Seattle

There is just something about Seattle, Washington that feels good. The people, the food, and surprisingly even the gloomy weather. My experience in Seattle was one that has left me itching to return to the area as soon as possible. Here are a few of the attractions that we visited and why you should to.

Space Needle

Probably the most notable of all of the attractions in Seattle is the Space Needle observation tower. You can't exactly miss its iconic shape in the Seattle skyline. I highly recommend taking the ride up if you have the time. You'll be treated to spectacular views of the city and beautiful mountains views in the distance. On a clear day, you'll be able to see Mount Rainier!

A ticket to the top will cost you about $20, but can you really go to Seattle and say you didn't do this?

Mount Rainier

Speaking of Mount Rainier, located about 2 hours away is an unbelievable beautiful National Park headlined of course by the mountain itself. You'll find an endless amount of trails for your liking dependent upon the time of year that you visit.

We went early May, so we stayed in low altitude environments to stay out of the large amounts of snow and ice, but still were able to catch a few great glimpses of the staggering mountain itself.

Wait until later in the summer and trail availability will widely open up! You'll also find that Seattle weather is beautiful in the summertime. The typical dreary days will pass away and you can be treated to breathtaking views along with wildflowers covering the trails.

Georgetown Brewing

Located not far from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, check this place out just before you head out! We did and we were treated to a tour of all of their beers (about 10 4 oz. pours). Once done with the tour, we asked how much we owed and they said $0!

For that in and of itself, we had to buy something. We each bought a little souvenir cup to remember how wonderfully tasting all of their beer were and surely left a great tip. If you get the chance definitely check out this local spot. You are sure to be welcomed and treated just as a local. If you are going to be around for a few days after visiting, I highly recommend getting a growler fill of whatever you're favorite brew is.

Kerry Park

Kerry Park is great place to visit for spectacular views of the Seattle skyline. Best part about this place is that it's free and you can relax on the walls edge for as long as you would like. By the way, I highly encourage releasing your inner child on the playground below (if nobody is around).

Li'l Woody's

This one is a treat. You'll find a whole host of amazing burger options. If you ask me, there is only one option though. The "Fig and the Pig" is a 1/3 pound burger served with a pile of bacon, blue cheese, along with their homemade pickled figs. It looked and tasted so good, that all three of us forgot to take a photo before we finished!

Pike Place

Probably the second most notable of the Seattle attractions is Pike Place. Here you can see a "show" put on by some of the locals throwing fish or enjoy some local arts and crafts as well as an endless amount of food options. Get lost and indulge.

Original Starbucks and Starbucks Reserve

Home to the original Starbucks located just across from Pike Place. If you're a Starbucks fan, this is a must do. It's quite interesting to see where the international super power in coffee all began. If you're not, well then check out the Starbucks Reserve for a little bit of a different experience. Here you'll find small batch roasted coffees and other great innovative coffee beverages that you are sure to love. You'll spend a little extra here, but if you are a coffee connoisseur like I am, you'll be sure to love the experience.

Gum Wall

Another Seattle staple is the Gum Wall. While gross to some, it is a must visit! Take a few friends and stick some gum on the wall together because why not be a tourist?

CenturyLink Field

Any sports fan should take a tour or at minimum go see this place. Most definitely one of the most notable football stadiums around the country for its architecture. That makes this place a must see. You'll be left in awe at every turn.

Pioneer Square

This is a great spot to find a local coffee shop, grab a bite to eat, check out an art gallery, or just relax on your vacation. Isn't that why you're on vacation anyways?

Puget Sound/Ferry

A place that you can see from almost any scenic view is the Puget Sound. Take a talking ferry ride across on your way to Olympic National Park for a day or two spent outside of the city. You won't regret it!

Olympic National Park

If you're like me, you'll want to cross off as many National Parks that you can, which makes this worth the trip outside the city.

Here you'll find a unique landscape of beautiful coastline, dense rainforest, and dramatic peaks all in one place.

In the end, Seattle and the surrounding around is a place where not everything can ever be done. For someone with a craving for the outdoors with a perfect balance of a beautiful city, this is your paradise.
