Recap of my holiday vacation that spanned from Washington, Oregon, and California. It was about a 2,500 mile journey when it was all said and done. It started with perhaps the best approach I've ever taken into Portland:
We spent a few days around Oregon hiking and staying in a friend's cabin.
This lake is about 45' deep at its deepest, but with water so pure that you can see the very bottom.
We then drove down the Pacific Coast, making stops along the way and at Redwoods National and State Parks.
Our journey then took us to Lava Beds National monument, a collection of over 700 lava tubes free for exploration. This was my first experience with caves!
The latter end of the trip consisted of a visit to beautiful Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada. This marked my first skiing experience at Squaw Valley (home of the 1960 Winter Olympics) and the start of a new expensive hobby!
Our trip ended with a beer while watching traffic cross the Golden Gate Bridge before flying out of San Francisco. Until the next one!
